DATASHUTTLE EXPRESS - Unit is Not Found in Windows and is Not Found by DTESTCAUSE: The parallel port may be set to a mode that does not work, or there may be a conflict with another driver in the PC. In the TI Extensa, the infrared (IR) port has been found to conflict with the parallel port when in Windows, because they share the same DMA channel. SOLUTION: Any of the following may need to be changed in the CMOS (BIOS) settings in the PC: Change the parallel port mode; change the base address of the parallel port; change the IRQ number on the parallel port; turn of the IR port (if available). Sometimes it is necessary to run a utility to change some of the CMOS settings. If this doesn't work, make sure you can print from the port. If not, the port may be defective. |
