The all-plastic Model LVLK800 liquid sensor detects fluid level changes in liquid filled reservoirs and the interstice of double-wall tanks. This dual float sensor indicates if the reservoir has drained or overfilled due to varying conditions. It also functions well in high or low water table applications. In hydrostatic applications, there are three possible conditions which will cause the LVLK800 reservoir sensor to actuate. An inner wall breach causes interstitial liquid to drain into the primary tank; the resulting reservoir drain actuates the lower level switch. The other two conditions are manifested by an outer wall breach. 1) When groundwater is below the tank top, the interstitial liquid drains into the ground; the resulting reservoir drain actuates the low level switch. 2) When groundwater is above the tank top, the reservoir will overfill with groundwater and actuate the high level switch. The LVLK800 reservoir sensor assures dependable service with the incorporation of an integral slosh shield which guards the floats from debris. Switch closures are differentiated, so alarms, annunciators, or other system controllers can be set up to distinguish between high level and low level conditions. The LVLK800 liquid level sensor operates on a direct, simple principle. A float is equipped with powerful, permanent magnets. As the float rises or lowers with liquid level, it actuates a magnetic reed switch mounted within the stem. This condition either opens or closes the electrical circuit to operate an external alarm or control circuit. When mounted vertically, this basic design provides a consistent accuracy of ± 1 /8 inch. At the heart of the sensor is a durable reed switch to ensure long, trouble-free service. These hermetically sealed switches ensure precise repeatability. The switch actuation point remains constant over the life of the unit.
